Officiating the launch of the exhibition at the shopping mall was the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Dato Paduka Hj Jemat Ampal. The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, Tong Xiaoling, said the exhibition was a gesture of thanks to Bruneians for their support of and attention to the Beijing Games. "The Beijing Olympic Games bear great importance not only to China but also to the whole world," said the ambassador, adding that the sports event is the perfect occasion to unroll China's 5,000 year history and prove the Chinese people's common aspiration to seek peace, development and progress together. The exhibition is also a continuation of a photo exhibition of the Sichuan Earthquake Relief and Beijing Olympics, which was held at her residence earlier this month. The exhibition is co-organised by the Chinese Embassy and Brunei-China Friendship Association. Organised by the Chinese Embassy and the Brune-China Friendship Association, the exhibition displays pictures of the origins of the Games and the Beijing venues, as well as the past events at previous host cities. The pictures have been provided by Wen Wei Po Daily News. Located at the second floor of The Mall, the exhibition will take place throughout the Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
