Minister of Communications launches Strategic Plan Book

The Strategic Plan Book of the Ministry of Communications was launched yesterday at Dewan Amar Pahlawan of the ministry.

The guest of honour was Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Hj Apong, Minister of Communications.

The event began with a recital of Surah al-Fatihah, followed by a welcoming remark from Awg Haji Alaihuddin bin POKDG Hj Mohd Taha, Permanent Secretary at the ministry who said, "The book contains 13 main sections where each section contains the vision, mission, current situation, trend development and challenges, strategic objective of the ministry and department, policy direction, main initiatives and achievement."

The book will be used as a guideline by the Ministry of Development and departments under it for the next 10 years.

Following a speech by the minister was the handover of the book to Awang Haji Alaihuddin, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications.

Towards the end, the guest of honour toured an exhibition themed "Towards a Sophisticated Society" participated by departments under the ministry, which showcases other e-government services such as e-mincom and SPD project. Other exhibitors also include TelBru, b.mobile, DST and AITI.

A number of road shows will also be held to give an understanding to personnel of the ministry to realise further the contents of the book and thus achieve what is inside the strategic plan.
