 Pehin Kapitan China Kornia Diraja Dato Paduka Lau Ah Kok with the visiting delegates.Four delegates from the Fujian province in China yesterday paid a courtesy call on Pehin Kapitan China Kornia Diraja Dato Paduka Lau Ah Kok, the head of the Chinese community in Brunei Darussalam and founder of leading department store chain Hua Ho.
The delegates - who are here on their first trip - are representatives of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Fujian Provincial People's Government.
"They are here to introduce to Pehin the progress and developments that have been made in Fujian," said Jay Choo, a personal assistant to Pehin Lau.
Before holding discussions, the delegates presented Pehin Lau with a souvenir picture and a variety of traditional Chinese tea.
Here on a three-day visit, the delegates will also pay a visit to the Chung Hwa Secondary School, Choo added.
"I am very grateful to be in Brunei," said one of the delegates, Wang Qing Yang, who is the Director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Fujian Provincial People's Government. |
