Brunei achieves commendable awards at Int'l Mathematics and Science Olympiad

Non-governmental schools have done the country proud by achieving commendable awards at the Second International Mathematics and Science Olympiad for Primary Schools that was held in Jakarta, Indonesia.  Brunei Darussalam was represented by six Primary Six pupils at the eight-day session that commenced on the 12th of this month.

Awang Muhammad Zikri Rifa'ie bin Zulkifli of the Saint Michael School in Seria won the silver medal and the best student award in science experiment.  Dayangku Nur Zariah binti Pengiran Omar Ali of the Sunshine School in Gadong and Dayang Lim Jia Xin of the Chung Hwa Middle School in Bandar Seri Begawan each secured the bronze medals.

The Director of Schools, Doctor Haji Mahali bin Momin and the Assistant Director of Non-Governmental Schools, Datin Hajah Asmah binti Haji Abdul Rahman were at the Brunei International Airport to welcome them home.
