At the invitation of H.E. Mr. Sun Zhengcai, Minister of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Yahya bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, Minister of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR) of Brunei Darussalam, pays a working visit to China on 4^th-8^th May 2009.

On 4^th May, the Bruneian delegation signed in Beijing an MOU on strengthening bilateral agricultural cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China. The delegation will also visit local agricultural research institutions, enterprises and food processing plants in China’s Hunan Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

H.E. Pehin Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Yahya will also meet, during his stay in Nanning, capital city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Bruneian officers from the MIPR’s Department of Agriculture who are attending the Training Course on Rice Breeding Technologies organised by Guangxi’s Department of Agriculture.
