Notice on Airline Boarding Requirements for both RT-PCR and IgM Anti-Body Negative Results
2020/10/31

In order to reduce cross-border transmission of Covid-19, starting from 6 November 2020, all Chinese and foreign passengers who are to fly from Brunei to China will be required to take both RT-PCR and IgM anti-body tests. Original copies of both statements of negative results are required for boarding the direct flight to China. The specific requirements are as follows:

1. Passengers going to China via direct flights must take RT-PCR and IgM anti-body tests within 2 days before boarding at a designated medical institution in Brunei. Original statement of negative results for both tests need to be presented in order to board the flight. Please submit 2 copies of both statements of results to Royal Brunei Airlines at the check in desk. Foreign passengers do not need to apply for certified Health Declaration Form from the Chinese Embassy in Brunei.

2. Passenger going to China via connecting flights must take RT-PCR and IgM anti-body tests in Brunei within 2 days before boarding the flight to the transit country and then take both tests again in the transit country within 48 hours before boarding the direct flight to China. If needed, foreign passengers must apply at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate-General in the transit country for certified Health Declaration Form in order to board the flight. Chinese passengers must apply for green health code with "HS" on it. Please consult the website of the Chinese Embassy or Consulate-General in the transit country carefully for the detailed requirements.

3. Passengers going to China via Brunei must be reminded that Brunei International Airport is not able to carry out RT-PCR nor IgM anti-body tests at the airport, and Bruneian authorities have suspended any issuance of Visa on Arrival. It is not advisable to try to go to China via Brunei. If any passenger has booked flight to China via Brunei after November 6, please reschedule your flight.

Please read the requirements carefully and follow them accordingly. Failure to obtain both statements of negative results for RT-PCR and IgM anti-body or a certified Health Declaration Form based on the results (if needed) means that you do not qualify for boarding the flight to China, please adjust your itinerary accordingly.

If you must go to China via connecting flights, please check the transit country's entry regulations and the tests requirements beforehand. Failure to enter the transit country or meet the requirements regarding the tests could result in being stranded and heightened infection risks.
